What is Clinical Sexology

Clinical Sexology

Clinical Sexology is the scientific study of human sexuality, including human sexual interests, behaviors and functions.

Sexologists apply tools from several academic fields including, but not limited to: biology,  medicine, psychology, epidemiology and sociology.  Topics of study include sexual development, sexual orientation, gender identity, sexual relationships, sexual activities and atypical sexual interests. The field of study explores across the entire human lifespan and includes quality of life.

Dr. Laura graduated from the Institute for the Advanced Study of Human Sexuality (IASHS) with a Doctorate in Human Sexuality and a Doctorate of Philosophy specializing in Erotology (the study of how art, literature and cultural behaviors influence human sexuality). The Institute was established in  1976 and provided comprehensive and pioneering curriculum (IASHS Catalog) that paved the way for learning institutions today. The Institute closed in 2018.

Specializing in sex education through art, Dr. Laura has lectured internationally and has had a thriving clinical practice since 2007.

Sex Gender Love Therapy

I am delighted to share my knowledge and wisdom of sexuality, gender, and erotic expression with those seeking to enrich their own personal experience  from a transpersonal perspective that embraces diversity and celebrates inclusivity.

My Ph.D in Erotology and Doctorate of Human Sexuality were forged by two simple questions: How could I make a positive impact in the lives of others? How could I truly reach people and be of service to them?

I provide supportive, compassionate and nonjudgmental counseling for those looking for personalized support and enrichment. I look forward to conversing with you.
